Why did I receive an insurance offer from CU1?

Credit Union 1 has partnered with a company called Franklin Madison to provide our members with optional protection products such as Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), Hospital Accident Protection Insurance (HAP) and more.

Protection products offer a low-cost way for our members in need to access certain services – such as Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), Hospital Accident Protection Insurance (HAP) and Recuperative Care Insurance (RC) – and they’re yet another way we assist with Alaskans’ wellbeing however we can.

How often will I receive an insurance offer?

Insurance offers are mailed every few months. In 2021, they will arrive in March, July, September and December. 

Who is eligible to receive these offers?

We provide insurance offers to our members who have opted-in to receive marketing materials, have a savings, checking and/or credit card account with us, and are 18 years or older.

What should I do with this offer?

  • If you're not interested in optional protection products like these, you can simply disregard the mailing.
  • If you are interested, you can begin by selecting your desired insurance coverage, designate your beneficiary, and then sign and return your activation form to Franklin Madison Group. Received activation forms are then processed for the coverage level you selected.

What if I lost my offer?

If you've misplaced your offer and would like to enroll for coverage, you can call the Franklin Madison Call Center at (877) 309-6576 and ask to enroll over the phone.

I would like to stop receiving these mailings. What should I do?

  • If you would like to opt-out of these mailings, just let us know. You can notify a CU1 representative at your local branch, or give us a call at (907) 339-9485.
  • Please note, we prepare each mailing up to 8-12 weeks prior to its deployment. If you opt-out within that time period, you may still receive one last mailing.
